Exeter University consolidates status as one of the UK’s best
The University of Exeter is a major part of the city as it employs 4,960 people and their income drives the housing market and much of the local economy. It’s therefore great news that the University is 12th best out of 132 in the country. The Sunday Times league table says:
- Exeter has beaten all others in the westcountry, including Bath and Bristol;
- The league table is based on nine key performance indicators;
- Exeter performed particularly well for completion rates and student facilities.
University staff are a backbone of the housing market and even some of the 22,540 students buy homes too, while the vast majority rent. What’s good for the university is therefore good for Exeter’s economy and infrastructure – this is a great result.
