LETTINGS NEWS:- Rental sector clampdown shows need for experienced lettings agents
The government has given £2m extra to councils to monitor buy to let flats and houses. That’s good news for all but emphasises the need for lettings agents to help landlords through a maze of rules and regulations. The cash will:
- help fund spot checks on some rental accommodation;
- enforce the 300-plus pieces of legislation applying to the rental sector;
- monitor the condition of homes let out in each council area.
Everyone wants top quality rental properties, and buy to let remains a profitable enterprise for landlords, but rules change frequently. To stay on top of legal requirements it’s a ‘must’ for landlords to hire experienced lettings agents.
