Major science park investment signals strong start to 2019 for Exeter
A new ‘Innovation Building’ is to be constructed on Exeter Science Park – a big vote of confidence in the city as it starts 2019. Exeter has a growing reputation as one of the UK’s most go-ahead cities with firms relocation from elsewhere. This building:
- is designed for new IT start-up companies wanting a Devon base;
- will be open by the end of next year, 2020; and
- will cost around £7m, with 15% coming from the public purse.
The science park, near Cranbrook on the northern edge of Exeter, is in a zone which should provide 10,000 jobs by 2025 – and that’s good news for the city’s housing market as newcomers look for homes to live.
