Good neighbours provide a boost to Exeter charity
When leading Exeter estate agents West of Exe decided to refurbish their new Exminster offices, their next door neighbours at the Exeter Leukaemia Fund’s (ELF) “Shelf Life” shop were very pleased to lend a helping-hand.
A donation of three office chairs and four desks will now be sold by the charity to raise vital funds to support patients and families in and around Exeter who are affected by blood cancer and blood disorders.
West of Exe moved into Exminster High Street a year ago after acquiring Partridge’s Estate Agents. The company, whose sister agency is East of Exe, provides property sales and lettings services to customers across Exeter and Teignbridge.
Mags Naylor, Chief Executive of Exeter Leukaemia Fund, said: “Donations like these help us support families affected by leukaemia and other blood disorders. The office furniture will first be used to replace our existing furniture at the ELF Marsh Barton office and will be later be transferred to be sold in the ELF shops.
“One of the most important lifelines we’re able to fund is community transport to take people to and from their hospital appointments. Not only are we able to support people who are unable to drive because of their illness or medication, we can help remove the additional stresses of finding car parking at the hospital.”
Mags added: “West of Exe are brilliant neighbours and it’s really great having them next to us. We are really heartened by the generosity and support of the local businesses around us.”
Ian Garcia, Founder and Director of West of Exe and East of Exe said: “Everyone needs a good neighbour and we’re really pleased to do our bit to help this excellent local charity.”
