EXETER NEWS: Exeter to get part of £5m transport boost
Train links from Exeter to Bristol and London have been included in transport services which are to benefit from an additional £5m of public spending.
The financial injection – announced this week by deputy prime minister Nick Clegg – will also cover improved ferry links between the south west and the Scillies.
The proposal aims to “help move the south west up the communications ladder, making it more attractive to people wanting to locate their families or their businesses to the region” says Clegg.
The announcement comes on top of a recent government pledge to spend £2 billion on transforming the A303 road between London and the south west into a “super highway”.
