LETTING NEWS: Boom in Staycations means more business for holiday homes
Two new reports into the leisure industry provide a boost for owners of holiday homes in this country, or those considering buying one in the near future. For in addition to being able to enjoy the home yourself, there looks set to be an increase in demand for homes let out in popular holiday locations such as the south west.
- Around 20 per cent more Britons are considering a ‘staycation’ holiday in the UK than in 2016 according to a survey of 2,000 people by rental firm HomeAway;
- The same survey puts Devon in the top five destinations for staycationers;
- Meanwhile business consultancy PwC says that although the Pound’s exchange rate is relatively steady now, the value of Sterling has dropped 16 per cent since last summer, therefore making domestic holidays in 2017 even more attractive.
