NEWS: Exeter is Britain’s 16th best shopping destination
Exeter has been named as one of Britain’s 20 best shopping destinations.
The magazine Property Week – which analyses retail facilities around the country – listed Exeter as number 16, just one behind Bristol.
Property Week says Exeter has the potential to attract still more prestigious stores in addition to those already located in Princesshay and the rest of the city centre.
The news comes as the city council, along with Devon county council, announce plans for another 40,000 square metres of new shopping space as part of a growth plan for Exeter up to 2026.
The plan also includes 12,000 new homes, allocating new land to business development, and investment in additional technology to improve traffic flows and cut congestion.
