SALES NEWS: 2015 house price rises to be small – but they’ll stick
The new year housing market forecasts are in and they represent good news for our region with small but sustainable price increases anticipated in 2015.
Hometrack, an independent consultancy which analyses data from hundreds of estate agents, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, which polls its most experienced members, both suggest south west England will see average price rises of two per cent.
Other regions of the country will see price rises ranging from five per cent down to no change at all.
There is traditionally a slight slowdown in the number of transactions just before a general election but this is expected to be balanced in 2015 by a gentle increase in the number of sales as buyers are encouraged by the lower stamp duty.
