SALES NEWS: FT names Exeter “boom town” and tips five areas for discerning buyers
Exeter has been described as “a boom town …. punching above its weight in terms of facilities” by the Financial Times, thanks to a series of infrastructure improvements and landmark activities happening in the city.
It says typical house prices in Exeter itself have fully recovered from the recession while those outside are returning to pre-downturn levels.
It highlights St Leonards, Topsham, Woodbury, Lympstone and Budleigh as key locations for high-end purchasers, including those relocating from elsewhere in the UK.
The FT also says Exeter’s boom is set to continue thanks to its role as host of part of the 2015 World Cup Finals, record numbers applying to its university, significant new housing schemes across the city, and new out-of-town retail facilities including a £60m IKEA store.
