SALES NEWS:- Housing market shrugs off uncertainty as buyers step forward

It looks as if buyers and sellers are more confident about the housing market, despite the economic and political uncertainties dominating the headlines. New figures from the Land Registry, which monitors all housing transactions, show:

  • house sales across the UK in August were 4.4% higher than in July;
  • this was the fourth month in a row that sales increased;
  •  the latest figure is also well above the number from this time last year

House sales usually lag in summer, especially during particularly hot ones such as 2018, but this August there were 93,459 sales of houses and flats lodged with the Registry.
