SALES NEWS: South west house price boost – but check local estate agents for details
Asking prices for homes on sale in the south west have risen 6.5 per cent in the past year, which is more than in London or the south east of England.
New data from Rightmove – which measures the asking prices of around 90 per cent of all homes on sale at any one time – shows the average asking price now is a fraction over £300,000. A year ago the average was £282,190.
The only region exceeding this increase in the past year is the East of England.
On the one hand this shows the south west market as strong, despite recent economic and political uncertainty. On the other hand these figures are ‘averages’ so prices will vary significantly from area to area, and are influenced by local market conditions as well.
As ever, estate agents based in local areas are best placed to give specific price advice.
