SALES NEWS: There’s still time to take advantage of more buyers on the prowl

The housing market is gently moving back towards the seller according to data from the National Association of Estate Agents – the organisation which monitors business across the housing market.

It says that in the past five weeks there has been a slight fall in the number of properties on sale but at the same time there’s been a 10 per cent increase in the number of buyers registered with estate agents and looking to purchase.

The association says there are about eight people looking for every home that’s on the market. When demand exceeds supply like this, it normally leads to a slight ‘hardening’ of the market with sale prices coming closer to those asked by the sellers.

Therefore even though it is now well into autumn, buyers are still on the prowl – anyone considering selling still has time to take advantage of increasing demand this year.
