SALES NEWS: University expansion set to boost Exeter housing market
A new institute opens at Exeter University next year bringing another 200 academics to the city, and giving its housing market a boost when they seek homes to rent or buy.
The Wolfson Foundation has this month given a £2m gift towards the Living Systems Institute. Its building is under construction now and will open in summer 2016.
It will involve 200 biologists, physicists, mathematicians and engineers analysing the processes underlying human diseases, including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
The £52.5m building is the largest single investment on the campus of the university, which is in the prestigious Russell Group and was this year placed 7th in the Sunday Times list of UK academic institutions.
