The south west is the downsizing capital of the UK

It probably won’t come as a surprise but the south west of England is officially the UK’s top destination for over-50s looking to downsize to a location with a better lifestyle. New research from retirement company Regency Living shows that:

• across England and Wales some 38% of people are aged 50 or over;
• in the south west region that proportion rises to 43%;
• and in parts of Devon the figure reaches over 50%.

Downsizers moving from elsewhere in the country help keep the housing market buoyant in our area – and show just how lucky we are to already live here!
